Through our on the ground team of Field Officers, MIGAS provides the following workforce support:
- One-on-one mentoring;
- Non-vocational assistance to include guidance and support to the apprentice, family members and their communities particularly for indigenous apprentices;
- Performance and behavioural management;
- Issue resolution by regularly assessing performance and responding to issues quickly and efficiently, identifying solutions and achieving desired outcomes;
- Providing regular communication and progress reports to Site Supervisors and other managerial stakeholders; and
- Our support framework is delivered with a focus on the adherence to WH&S standards.
Performance Management of Apprentices
Whenever a performance management issue arises, an experienced MIGAS Field Officer will develop an action plan to address it and will consult with the host employer regarding its implementation moving forward. Regular status checks are agreed and potential consequences are communicated upfront to the apprentice.
MIGAS will undertake, at a minimum, monthly face-to-face monitoring of all apprentices and seek feedback from the apprentice and the host employer to ascertain the apprentice’s progress and identify their skills and capabilities for their training record.
In addition to monthly site visits, the dedicated MIGAS Field Officer is in regular contact (via telephone or Skype) in the initial stages of employment to ensure they are integrating into the workforce and meeting the expectations of supervisors.
We will undertake task observations at each site visit and forward a documented copy of the results to the relevant site supervisor. Quarterly performance assessments are also undertaken with the objective of pre-empting and minimising behavioural issues.
MIGAS provides an end to end solution for the recruitment, placement and ongoing management of high quality apprentices and trainees in skilled trades. Candidates are rigorously screened and tested to ensure their capabilities and attitude match the requirements of the role.
The recruitment of work-ready apprentices and trainees can be scaled to meet the needs of large, multi-disciplinary projects or smaller specialist projects. MIGAS will consult with you to determine the preferred employment model, skills mix requirements and timeline.
Managed services supports companies that choose to employ apprentices or trainees direct, but wish to outsource the administrative requirements and compliance obligations. MIGAS provides a streamlined approach to managing the apprentice’s employment arrangement so you can get on with the job at hand.
MIGAS can provide a just-in-time resource for short, mid or long term employment in skilled trades. Labour hire is ideal for ongoing projects or when you need a skilled pair of hands on site as soon as possible.
